Welcome to FLY Velo Pyrenees
FLY Velo Pyrenees is an unforgettable cycling experience in the stunning Midi Pyrenees, available all year round, offering long or short stay holidays tailored to your sporting needs. Whether you want to tackle the toughest mountain passes from the Tour de France or a more relaxed flatter ride taking in some excellent coffee stops, we have it all right here.
We are nestled in a quiet valley within the picturesque foothills of the mountains which you can reach quickly and easily. The roads in this region are perfect for cycling - in every direction you will enjoy smooth tarmac and traffic free rides, all with breathtaking views.
You are free to tailor your holiday as you desire; we can offer full guided tours, transport and mechanical back-up support, or you might want to use our route cards and gpx files to explore the region by yourself.
For more information please see our website FLY VELO Pyrenees.
Tour de France and Cols of the pyrenees
Each year the TDF passes through our region usually for 3 to 5 days, sometimes passing only a few kms from our doorstep! Why not try riding the same route as the pros or taking on the legendary climbs such as Tourmalet, Apsin, Peyresoude, Aubisque, Hautacam, Superbagners to name just a few.
There are also many cyclo sportives in the midi pyrenees, both in the flatter Gers and of course the epic mountain cols. Contact me for further details.
When you are not cycling, you are free to enjoy all that Frog Lake Yurts has to offer, relaxing by the 10 x 5m pool, or eating a delicious home cooked meal in our cycling themed large barn, or experiencing the sights and sounds of nature from a lakeside hammock.
Even in the winter months we can experience bright sunny spells with temperatures in the mid to high teens, so there are many chances to enjoy a days riding.
We have plenty of bike storage, workshop facilities, and the possibility of hiring bikes and bike carriers.
Transfers to / from the airports at Toulouse or Tarbes/Lourdes can be arranged prior to your stay, please email for further details and costs. (I currently have the ability to drive 3 extra people, plus up to 8 bikes).
For accommodation please see the Frog Lake Yurts pages. Staying in a yurt is a unique and exciting experience being close to nature, but with creature comforts like a proper bed. If you don't think a yurt stay is for you, then we may have a room available in our 18th century farm house, so please email for more details.
Quick introduction from FLY Velo Pyrenees
Hello my name is Paul and cycling has been my passion for as long as I can remember. I first caught the bug in my early teens when mountain biking became all the rage in the 90's, then some years later I discovered the joys of a road bike, starting with sportives which lead onto road racing and time trials.
Before moving to France I was very much involved in the running of the local cycling club for a number of years which included arranging / managing weekly rides. I have previously worked as a mechanic in my local bike shop and I also hold qualifications as both a cycle tour guide (CTC) and as an outdoor first aider (St. Johns Ambulance).
Typical prices inc taxes (subject to change):
All vehicle travel: 40 cents / km.
Guided tour: 50 euros per day / per group (up to 10 riders).
